Dr Sherif Tawfeek is a Specialist Obstetrician and Gynaecologist with more than 25 years of experience, recognised for his expertise in advanced endoscopic and robotic gynaecological surgery. He completed his postgraduate training and medical research in the United Kingdom, followed by further advanced surgical training across leading units in the UK, Europe and Australia, including a Diploma in Gynaecological Operative Endoscopic Surgery (France) and a Master’s degree in Infertility and Reproductive Medicine (UK).
For over 12 years, Dr Tawfeek served as the lead endoscopic (keyhole) surgeon at Christchurch Women’s Hospital in New Zealand, managing a broad range of complex gynaecological conditions. He holds fellowships with the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (UK), the American College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, and the International College of Surgeons (USA).
His special interests include chronic pelvic pain and advanced endometriosis, menstrual disorders, fibroids, polyps and ovarian cysts, total and subtotal laparoscopic hysterectomy, endometrial ablation, and subfertility and recurrent miscarriage surgery. Dr Tawfeek established a dedicated Pelvic Pain and Advanced Endometriosis Clinic, bringing together specialists from multiple disciplines to offer holistic, multidisciplinary care to women with complex pelvic pain.
